Jorge Isaza, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Spine Specialists of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is board-certified by the American Board of Spine Surgery, and has more than fifteen years of experience in the care of spinal ailments.
Dr. Isaza graduated with a medical degree from the Universidad del Valle in Colombia in South America. From there, he continued his studies at Tulane University School of Medicine where he got his specialization in orthopedic surgery. He did a fellowship in spine surgery at Tulane University, as well as a second fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. He has been involved in the advancement of surgical spine technology for over 25 years, as well as having the honor to be the Chief Clinical Investigator for the Artificial Disc in the lumbar spine. He is also one of the first and few spine surgeons in the country to perform Endoscopic Spine Procedures.
Dr. Isaza has participated in multiple clinical trials in the advancements of spine surgery and is considered an expert in his field. He has been the led investigator for many FDA studies related to spine surgery. He is extensively published in the leading medical journals and is recognized both nationally and internationally as one of the leading spine surgeons in the world.
